Crew Lounge Design for Squadron 601, Wing 6 – Royal Thai Air Force
Category: Hospitality
Interior Design: Collective Studio
Location: Bangkok ,Thailand
Area: 80 sq.m.
Year: 2016

This project focuses on redesigning the crew lounge for Squadron 601 of Royal Thai Air Force, the unit operating the iconic Lockheed C-130 Hercules.
Due to the demanding and diverse nature of their missions, the squadron accommodates a large number of pilots and personnel. The existing space no longer supported their needs, prompting a redesign aimed at enhancing comfort, functionality, and recovery between operations.
The design concept draws direct inspiration from the C-130 Hercules itself—an aircraft with a long-standing legacy. We translated its character into an Aviator Concept, blending the classic aesthetics of its early era with the raw, rugged strength associated with military aviation.
Material choices, textures, and spatial atmosphere reflect this balance—where vintage aviation identity meets durability and practicality—creating a space that not only supports rest and efficiency but also resonates with the spirit of the squadron.
