Pleasure in the Jobs Puts the Perfection in the Work.

Aristotle

Work is not just about making a living.

It’s not just about getting through the day and going home.

It’s a part of life...

In an era where everyone has more career choices, being proud and happy with our work leads to better results. Work isn’t just about earning money.

it’s what drives us every day.

The office design for Spore Bangkok Co., Ltd., a Digital Media Agency under CJ Worx, stands out in the industry. CJ Worx is known for its outstanding Digital Marketing and Viral Marketing campaigns arguably the best in Thailand right now. (Well, that’s my own ranking… but hey, they’re our client! Haha).

How outstanding? Just look up their work chances are, you’ve seen it before.

When we were contacted, we were thrilled to receive interest from a company that already had a cool, well-designed office one created by a well-known firm, no less.

The fact that CJ Worx took interest in our work and entrusted us with this project was truly an honor along with a massive amount of pressure.

we're always hungry for new challenges. If they dare to hire us, we dare to take it on. Let’s go!

Spore

The dictionary definition of "spore" is "A small cell formed by multiple mitotic divisions in a part of an organism. As it matures, each cell can grow into a new organism. It is commonly found in plants such as ferns, mosses, and fungi."

It's hard to understand, right? Just reading it makes my head spin!

To put it simply, it's a tiny cell that can split and, when it's small, it spreads easily...

Exactly! Since their company works in marketing and needs to spread content everywhere, we can compare Spore to viral content that can spread rapidly in just hours.

This became the inspiration behind the design concept for this project.

"THE UNDERGROUND LABORATORY"

Concept of Interior Design of Spore Bangkok Office

We wanted the atmosphere to feel like an underground lab where the team is secretly working on Spore (Viral), getting it ready to be released and spread like a virus outside, infecting everyone.

Fun idea, right…?

It reminds me of those post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies! We ended up binge-watching movies for days!

The mood board we presented follows this concept.

Now, let's take a look at the actual design. The entrance is designed to resemble a lab door, clean and white with a touch of futuristic style. To get in, you have to pass through a scanner, just like in the movies. There's a digital clock that serves both as decoration and a reminder for employees who come in late. Haha...

Fiiibbb... The sound of the automatic door opening and closing as you step inside. Once you enter, you’re greeted by a sleek, glossy white tunnel. Hmm... what is this place?

As you walk through, once you exit the tunnel, you'll find the vibe has completely shifted.

This place is an underground lab!!! Where everyone is having secretive meetings and working on things that don’t seem very trustworthy. It’s a Co-Working Space for the team, where multiple groups can sit down and discuss work together.

One area is designed as a multifunctional space where small seminars can be held for several people. We used metal sheets shaped like a world map, with magnets placed on them to represent the spread of viral content to various parts of the world.

The large meeting room is styled like the Starship Bridge, with a slightly brighter tone to suit work meetings. At the back of the room, we created a hidden LED-lit wall, making it feel like a server room controlling the processing of the entire lab.

Each room door has a red light indicating its usage. The small meeting room is hidden behind, designed to look like a medical room in this lab. The meeting table is repurposed from an operating table, with surgical lamps used as desk lighting. The walls are decorated with tiles and stainless steel. I have to say, this room really sets the mood for meetings—it feels like you’re sitting together for a surgery!

The various elements of this room were designed with playful touches, using different items in creative ways. For example, we repurposed old computer monitors into light fixtures. (At first, we wanted to have green text running continuously on the screens, but the client was concerned about the maintenance, so we decided to cut that idea.)

And by incorporating various types of lighting, we added depth to the atmosphere, making it feel more mysterious without being too dark.

The main focus was to find a way to blend the concept with the functionality and needs of the costumer

the costumer faced an issue in their previous office where employees often forgot to turn off the lights, leading to high electricity costs. So, they wanted a solution that would allow the last employee leaving the office to easily turn off the lights for the entire room.

We designed a control panel that allows the lights to be turned on and off by zones near the entrance tunnel. When it's time to leave, all the lights can be turned off at once. The tunnel lights are equipped with sensors that automatically turn off once the last person exits. In the morning, employees can easily turn on all the lights from this panel. The power meter you see isn’t just for decoration—it’s fully functional, and you can actually monitor the usage. It’s pretty cool!

For the work area that requires an employee ID card to unlock the door, we made it a bit smaller to create the feeling of a restricted area, emphasizing the secretive nature of the work.

This area is entirely in white to create a lab-like atmosphere, with black and yellow tape used to highlight and demarcate the workspace. The manager's office is designed like a capsule, built into the walls for a unique, enclosed feel.

The design of the Spore Bangkok office is an effort to create an atmosphere that communicates the company's philosophy and the work they do, all through the experience of living and working together in this space. We hope that the creative ideas we’ve brought to life here will continue to contribute, even if just a little, to the creation of great Viral Advertising in Thailand moving forward.
