Loei Provincial Local Museums Renovation Project

The Loei Provincial Local Museums Renovation Project is a collaborative design initiative between The Collective Studio and A-Seven Corporation, commissioned to reimagine a series of local museums across Loei Province.

Following the initiative of the local authority to upgrade multiple cultural institutions at once, the project was developed as a province-wide museum design package, focusing on improving storytelling, spatial experience, and cultural preservation.

Project Scope

This large-scale renovation covers six museums:

  1. Loei Local Museum

  2. Wat Si Phum Community Museum

  3. Dan Sai Local Museum

  4. Phi Ta Khon Museum

  5. Wat Si Chan Museum

  6. Phra Kaew Asa Hall Museum

Design Approach

Rather than treating each museum individually, the design approach focuses on creating a cohesive cultural narrative across the entire province, while still respecting the unique identity of each site.

Each museum is reinterpreted to better communicate local history, traditions, and community identity through improved exhibition flow, clearer storytelling, and enhanced spatial experience.

Outcome

This project represents a rare opportunity to redesign an entire provincial museum network at once, transforming scattered local institutions into a more connected cultural learning system.
